John Green

So, I heard John Green talk last Monday, and he is a pretty funny guy!
For those of you who don't know, he wrote "Paper Towns" and the Printz Award winning, "Looking For Alaska".
He said, "Libraries will save the world!" I kind of like that! He began his speech with some antidotes from the Internet, ya know, the one's we all know about and quote until the joke becomes a saying and the saying becomes annoying: "Ima letcha finish, but Beyonce had the best video...", and the infamous Balloon Boy. He thought it was sad that we spend all our time knowing things like this that don't really mean all that much. Not that they're bad things to know, just not as worthwhile as Shakespeare, science, or what life means!
We can choose how we spend our time, and we can choose what we think about! Guess what y'all, we don't have to be products of the media! We can have our own thoughts!

Some ideas to help "think for ourselves":

1. Journal. Write until you figure out what you actually think, believe, and want to know...
2. Consciously CHOOSE to think about something that is important to you! Who knows, maybe Kristen and Rob's dating history is important to you... but try to think about other things too!
