"Paper Towns" by John Green

Weeks before graduation, Margo, Quentin's child hood best friend and current crush, shows up at his window commanding him to take her out for a night of pranks and the righting of wrongs via spray paint and break-ins. Quentin has the time of his life, and is so happy to be back in the life of the coolest girl he's ever known. Only the next day, after she disappears, does Quentin remember how sad she sounded. He then begins on a quest to discover if she ran away or committed suicide. This book has just the right balance of humor and deep philosophical metaphors, giving a new perspective on the plight of the high school student.
